Game development, here I come!

Posted by ThomSip - April 3rd, 2008

Hello there,

My school is going like crap, so I'm gonna stop my current school. This means that I have vacation until next year when the school starts.

Lately I've been obsessed with AS, I just starded learning 3.0, but it's real hard to get good free tutorials. So I ordered a book of 440 pages about game development in AS 3.0.

I can't wait for it to arive :D, be on the look out for many games people :D, with a little effort I hope I might be able to get Armorgames sponsership in a few monhs (A)

Wish me luck :D

here's a discription of the book I ordered

Gary Rosenzweig's ActionScript 3.0 Game Programming teaches you to use advanced ActionScript, the programming behind Flash, through game creation. The lessons teach all the basics of ActionScript programming through game examples, but the code is easily adapted to non-game-oriented projects, such as Web training and advertising. Written by a real-world Flash developer, this book presents you with 10 projects that get you creating games quickly. The code can be used as is, or modified for entertainment, education, or training applications.
16 complete games and source code, including:
- Match Three;
- Trivia Quiz;
- Jigsaw Puzzle;
- Matching Game;
- Space Rocks;
- Racing game;
- Word Search;
- Platform Scroller.
Plus, learn some of the basic techniques you can use to create your own games.
